Anita Businesses
The Anita Blake books take place in St Louis, MO. There is a place called The District. It is one of the oldest parts of the city and inhabited by a lot of Vampire owned businesses. It is located on the Mississippi River and teh best time to visit is at night. I have listed several of the businesses below and a little info about each one.
Guilty Pleasures
A male strip club where the strippers are made up of vampires, lycanthropes, etc. The bouncers are also vampires. There are a variety of different acts such as: stand-up comedies, magic shows, dancing and stripping.
Circus of the Damned
The Circus is a carnival with a twist. It is inside a building and most if not all the acts are performed by the monsters. There are freak shows, games, performances, exotic animanls and other things including an inside ferris wheel. There is a dark atmosphere that will not allow you to be indifferent. This is a show for the entire family. Unknown to all, but the local vampire kiss and special few, the Circus is also the daytime resting place of the Master of the City.
Dead Dave's
This is a bar owned by a Vampire that happens to be an ex-cop. He was fired for being, of all things, dead.
Dance Macabre
This is a new dancing club in the area. Like the rest of the businesses, it is frequented by the creatures of the night. You should stop in, who knows, maybe the next person to ask you to dance won't be human.
The Laughing Corpse
This is a comedy club in the district. The staff and comedians are all vamps.

Burnt Offerings
This is a restaraunt located far from the district. The interior is decorated with memorabilia from the 1970's movie of the same name. There is a lifesize waxwork of Christopher Lee as Dracula from the movie in the bar. It is common for visitors to try to guess who is who. At the end of the midnight, the one with the most correct guesses wins a free dinner for two.
The Church of Eternal Life
The CEL is run by Malcolm, another master vamp that refuses to comform to vamp politics. His, or rather, the church's promise is eternal life and eternal youth.
The Vault
This is in the basement of the old St Louis City Hospital. All vamp victims are taken here. The hospital closed but the morgue stayed open because they couldn't afford to move the vamp room. It is a special steel reinforced everything and crosses laid on the outside of the door. Rats, rabbits, guinea pigs are just a snack to calm the newly risen.
The Leather Den
The only Gay bar for shapeshifters.
Narcissus in Chains
A bondage club for shapeshifters. It owned by Narcissus, the Oba for the Hyena clan.
